Hettie's Imagination (2021) – a symphonic fable for orchestra
Hettie’s Imagination is a symphonic work accompanied by handcrafted visuals, created in collaboration with artist Mia Lana. From a child’s bedroom to the depths of her colourful imagination, each panel of the artwork takes us on a journey ultimately leading into her own immature delusions of grandeur, where she is confronted with her darkest inner self. Written for the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance New Music Recording Orchestra, in collaboration with composer Shaye Poulton Richards.
Petal (2019) – for small ensemble
An exhibition based on the first act of short adventure game 'Petal' (in development), featuring musical excerpts woven together to accompany four hand-painted canvases. The story follows 11-year-old Petal, her best friend Lula, and the secrets that seem to be hidden from view. In collaboration with composer Shaye Poulton Richards.
As creative collaborators, Shaye and Mia are currently working on a video game inspired by the work created at the exhibition.
